Blue- and- Gold -Mount -Tabor -High!

I'm one of those rare breed of people who really liked high school. Actually, I loved it. In fact, my first few weeks of college I spent wishing I were still in high school.

I am still very, very close to many of my friends from dear old Mount Tabor High School. We often talk about how rare it was and how lucky we were to have enjoyed it so much.

Highlights for me were of course the musicals, cheerleading, and countless nights running from those lovely WSPD officers who were just trying to do their job.

Thoughts on Black Tights

What's my thing about black tights you ask? First of all, I hate how they styled black tights with that brown dress. Also, when I was younger I hated the way they made my chicken legs look even scrawnier than the already were. Now they just remind me of 80's power suits and the home wrecker Samantha from the Look Who's Talking Now movie. You know, the one with the dogs. Now black leggings are another story. I rock some black leggings. I guess what I really hate most are those sheer black tights. Make a commitment. Black OR neutral. No in between. That is all.

New Dress

I picked up this cutie-pa-tootie dress at NY and Co. today for $19 bucks!

Score! I love wearing easy cotton dresses in the summer time. I dont know why they styled this model with black tights. I have a thing about black tights. Still, the dress is really cute! If I get an interview for this job I just applied for- I will wear this dress with turquoise accessories.

Loved it!

10:30 pm on the dot I rush Eric out the door and we begin a very brisk walk to the Astoria Kaufman Theater for our 12:01 viewing of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. When we arrive, the line for our showing has just been ushered into the theater, so we run in and attain two very decent seats. Phew. We made it. Then we wait. The time passed surprisingly fast, and before we knew the familiar "da dada da, da da da, dada da, da da" plays over the speaker. From the first scene, I knew this was going to be something special, and it was. This was by far, the best film of the series. I wont post my full review until Monday so everyone has a chance to see it. I dont want to spoil anything. Just know this- it was beautifully filmed, wonderfully acted (the best performances yet from Dan, Rupert and especially Emma), very funny and very touching. Go on! Go see it, NOW!

Less than 3 months!

Guys, I am getting SOOO excited about the wedding!

Flowers- A mix of hydrangeas, hypericum berries, roses and anemones.

Headband- I love this delicate and feminine hair piece. Mine will be made of scrap lace from my dress.

Shoes- Pink! I love the t-strap and the blush color!

Cake- Butter cream with a sugar flower bouquet on top. The anemones will be courtesy of Sylvia Weinstock.

Overall I want a romantic, garden feel with a touch of whimsy and a hint vintage. Less than 3 months people!

Why I love BBC America

The BBC has, hands down, the BEST documentaries EVER! The program is called BBC America Reveals, and its brilliant! I am constantly intrigued by the stories of some of the most bizarre and fascinating subjects. After seeing Britain's Worst Teeth, I immediately made an appointment with my dentist.

This Sunday at 10 the show Addicted to Surrogacy. Um, what? This lady has incubated 7 babies, and is now trying for number 8! I mean, really. Selfless or a bit coo- coo?

Another favorite of mine was My Fake Baby. That's right, fake baby. These ladies like to collect and care for shockingly lifelike baby dolls. Some of them even have car seats and strollers that they tote them around in!

But the real zinger by FAR was Married to the Eiffel Tower. This focused on women living with ‘objectum sexual’disorder. Basically they love, desire and carry on passionate relationships with inanimate objects. Oh, boy, I cant even begin to describe it. Nothing is off limits. Everything from the Eiffel Tower and Berlin Wall to a fence, bow (as in bow and arrow), and amusement park ride are the objects of these ladies affections. WATCH. IT.

With other episodes named "100 Men Own My Breasts", "Transvestite Wives", and "The Fatest Man on No Legs", the hours of entertainment are vast. Please, please, please stop by BBC America and love it as much as I do!

Wedding Shoes Duex

So, if you remember, I was really and truly excited when I found the perfect Wedding shoes last month.

Well, I still love them because...
Pros: 1. Price! They were only $35 on EBay. 2. Wedge heel! Hello comfort. 3. Details!Love the vintage style and the petal applique.

but Im having second thoughts because...

Cons: 1. Color. They are a bit darker than in the pick. Much more ivory than I expected. 2. Ouch! They cut across my big toe bunion in a really bad way greatly compromising the whole comfort thing.

I haven't given up hope- but I did buy an alternative. These stunners:

Pros: 1. Pink! Blush pink is just about the only color I've incorporated into our wedding plans, and I love the idea of a little bit of it poking out from under my dress. 2. Price! They were on sale for $45 from $109 on Endless. 3. Details! I love the T strap and there is a red heart printed on the sole.
Cons: 1. Ouch! The heel height is 3.5". 2. Shiny! They're made of patent leather. Not 100% sure how I feel about that.

Shoe #2 is definitely a sexier shoe. I'll just have to wait and see how they look and feel on my darn feet!

Harry Potter: Half Blood Prince

Every day my excitement about the opening of HP: Half Blood Prince grows and grows! When we (the die hard fans) learned last year that the release was pushed back almost 8 months, we were devastated! Finally, in just 9 short days my wait will be over! Yes, we already bought our tickets for the midnight showing on Fandango. We had tried to buy them at the Lincoln Center theater, but two weeks early wasn't early enough. It was already sold out! Big movie openings are so fun in NYC. Everybody dresses up. Well, we don't. But lots of people do. It was the same for Star Wars and Spider Man. I think we would make a kick ass Ron and Hermione, but E's not so keen.

Of course, I'll always prefer the books, but it so fun to see the characters come to life- or come to death....ohhhhh.
