As any of you who have spoken with me on the subject know , I feel very strongly towards (one day) having a natural childbirth at a birthing center. This beautiful video only strengthens that opinion...

A few nights ago Tricia, Alayna, Julie and I enjoyed a lovely sunset picnic and a little game of pass-the-baby in Astoria Park!

Old ass wrinkles!

So I've hit a snag in my niece's flower girl dress adventure. Oh, the fun of working with vintage fabric. You really never know what is going to happen until you're in the trenches. Turns out that 30 year old synthetic fabric is pretty stubborn! The over lay fabric just will not let go of its wrinkles. I've tried everything: first just ironing and steaming. Then I took it to my friends at Timberlake and steamed and ironed with the heavy duty industrial. Still wrinkled. I even dredged the fabric in boiling water, then ironed it while wet. Nope. Still marbled with tiny, set in , old ass wrinkles. Darn it. I was dreading telling my MIL that I probably wasnt going to be able to use it. Its exactly what I was afraid of happening when I didnt want dismember it! As a last resort Im taking it to a dry cleaners on Thursday to get one more opinion. I did purchase back up fabric to use just in case and it looks exactly the same but its still so frustrating! I just hate to dissapoint, even though I know whatever happens, it will be beautiful in the end.

In other news... look how adorable tiny Alayna is in the "Sweet P" onsie I painted just for her. She made my day!

A good Friday

Showered with Love

I had such a fabulous time at Tricia's baby shower this weekend! It was so fun meeting all of her family and friends. I was made to feel very welcome. Oh boy, did this girl clean up! She got so many amazing gifts for little "Sweet P".



I was so pleased that my special gift was well received. I wanted to give something personal so I hand painted these four little onesies.


My favorite is the green sweet pea pod with pink bow. You can check out individual pic's on my Flickr feed.



Oh, by the way, they're calling her "Sweet P" for now because they are keeping her real name a secret until she is born. Cant wait to meet the little lady in just a few weeks!

Sweet P

Hey guys! meet my friend Tricia!



We met at American Girl and she is super awesome! She is also super preggers! Her little "Sweet P" is due March 10th, and I couldn't be more excited! She is my first NY friend to have a baby, and she only lives about 4 blocks from me, so I can visit whenever I want! Right Tricia?

Anywho, I am so excited to be traveling down to Delaware tomorrow for her baby shower! I cant wait to celebrate, meet her family and have an out-of-city sleep over. I'll give you the full scoop on Sunday when I return. Here is a sneak peak of my gift.
