I decided it was high time I joined the 21st century and start a blog! I've been falling behind miserably with my email updating- so if you really want to know whats going on with me it will now be "blogged" here! Spread the word!

This week Eric has been in Japan visiting his friend Dan and Ive definitely felt his absence hard. I am reminded that even a city of nearly 40,000 people can feel very lonely.

On the flip side I've been able to watch all the "Jon and Kate Plus 8" that I want! I also seized the opportunity to be more social and hosted a very successful dessert/ wine potluck! About 9 lovely folks from work came over and we had an awesome time! It seemed every ones wine selection was based more on the wines creative name than its quality. ( Sweet Bitch and Love my Goat for example) Tricia's Oreo cake and Julie's Cupcake cake were the dessert highlights of the evening. Oh theater people are the best! It was also decided among us Astorians that Astoria is the new social hot spot for all time. Get over it Washington Heighters!
I also discovered my new favorite sport of all time... ROLLER DERBY! Thats right- ladies kicking ass on wheels! My friend Madeline (aka Surley Temple) skates for the Manhattan Mayhem. Check out http://www.gothamgirlsrollerderby.com/ for more info. It was a serious good time. If I wasnt a terrible wussy pants I would totally do it! But seeing as I would never even play Red Light/ Green Light at Skate Haven, I think I'll just cheer from the stands. Although, they did have "Jeer Leaders" who could use some serious help on their choreography and costuming choices. Hmmmm....

Wedding planning is coming a long nicely. We have our reception site secured at The Piedmont Club and I have lots of appointments with vendors scheduled for my next trip to Winston. By the way that trip is Sept 27th through Oct 4th. Im going for an art deco/ elegant theme with white and black as my main color scheme- with hints of crimson. If you guys have any vendor recommendations let me know!

Mom, Dad and Bry are currently in Manteo with the dance portion of NCSA's Summer Series. Its such a beautiful little town on the Outer Banks and I miss going so badly. To me its the perfect combo = family + dance+ beach. Sigh.
Well I guess thats a pretty good start! Check back soon and see how my life is progressing! Love y'all!
